Trial Library, Inc. is a venture‑backed startup founded in 2022 on a mission to advance equity in oncology clinical trials. We are a diverse team of experts who believe that health equity starts with patient and provider empowerment. We believe that inequities in clinical trial access need to be addressed creatively and intentionally. We believe that inclusive research environments can answer questions that improve health outcomes for all, not just the few who participate in clinical trials. We believe in the power of technology to disseminate high‑quality health information about clinical trials sustainably. We believe in the power of representation in online health communication.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Frontend Engineer to join our team. This person will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining the user‑facing applications of Trial Library’s suite of solutions to accelerate clinical trial recruitment. This role will be responsible for building intuitive and performant interfaces across our technology stack, ensuring a seamless user experience for clinical trial search and other user‑facing applications. This position is critical to maintaining the highest quality standards as we work towards our company mission.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain responsive, accessible, and intuitive user interfaces for our web applications
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate mockups into functional interfaces
  • Collaborate with product designers and backend engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience
  • Implement and maintain robust frontend testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
  • Troubleshoot and debug frontend issues, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
  • Stay up‑to‑date with emerging frontend technologies and best practices
  • Work with healthcare and clinical trial data, exercising a practical understanding of industry best practices (e.g., HIPAA)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in frontend software development
  • Proficiency in React and TypeScript
  • Experience with frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Babel) and package managers (e.g., npm, yarn)
  • Experience with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress)
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles
  • Experience with MUI and styled components is a plus
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling
  • Strong UI/UX sensibilities and attention to detail
  • Experience with healthcare tech or clinical trials is a significant plus
  • Respect for compliance and privacy requirements in healthcare (e.g., HIPAA)
