Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a talented Front End Developer to join our digital development team in Washington, DC. You will build engaging, responsive web experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript across multiple platforms and CMS/eCommerce environments.

You will collaborate with designers, developers, project managers, and stakeholders to translate designs into pixel-perfect implementations, optimize performance, and stay current with web development trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of professional experience in Front End Development or a related role.
• Experience building responsive and mobile-friendly websites and applications.

Responsibilities

• Translate design concepts and wireframes into pixel-perfect, responsive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript implementations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design, development, testing, and deployment phases of projects.
• Develop and maintain websites and applications using a variety of CMS platforms, eCommerce systems, and web frameworks.
• Build software solutions that align with business requirements and customer needs.
• Create and implement quality assurance best practices to ensure reliable, high-quality deliverables.
• Conduct testing, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective solutions to improve application performance and functionality.
• Support ongoing website redesign, enhancement, and maintenance initiatives that directly impact customer engagement and brand experience.
• Develop new user-facing features and interactive web components.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness across devices and browsers.
• Ensure all user inputs are properly validated before submission to back-end systems.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to improving development standards and best practices.
• Configure and manage plugins, integrations, and third-party tools required to support website functionality.
• Identify project roadblocks and proactively implement creative solutions while adhering to company standards and guidelines.
• Stay current with emerging web development technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
