Apple, Inc. in Sunnyvale, California, is seeking a Frontend Architect for AI Experiences within Retail and Marcom Engineering. You will define frontend AI strategy, architect systems, and partner across Apple to ship on-brand web experiences.

This senior role requires 10+ years in production web apps, mastery of TypeScript/React, design systems, and AI tooling. You will lead multi-team architecture, mentor engineers, and drive governance for secure, scalable UI foundations.

Qualifications

• 10 years building production web applications
• 3+ years in a senior or architect role setting frontend direction across teams
• Expert-level TypeScript and React, including SSR, schema-first data, and performance at scale
• Led architecture of a design system, component platform, or shared frontend infrastructure
• Shipped LLM-powered features or AI developer tooling to production
• Hands-on daily use of AI coding agents with a clear POV on their use
• Deep knowledge of accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) and building it in by default
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Define the frontend AI strategy and multi-quarter roadmap across AI-powered experiences
• Architect systems such as component registries, MCP servers, and agent-facing interfaces
• Represent frontend in cross-functional AI efforts with other architects
• Write roadmaps, architecture decisions, and RFCs that guide the team
• Partner with design to define generative-UI guardrails
• Scale responsibly with governance on security, privacy, and telemetry
• Drive adoption across Marcom and partner orgs
• Mentor engineers and stay hands-on with prototypes and code reviews
