I’m partnering with a fast-growing climate technology company building advanced digital twin platforms to model and mitigate environmental risk. Their platform combines physics-based simulations (e.g., CFD, FEA) with AI-driven analytics to help users understand and act on complex climate data. They are now hiring a Frontend 3D Visualization Engineer to bridge the gap between deep technical models and intuitive, user-facing tools.
This is a highly cross-functional role focused on turning complex simulation outputs into clear, interactive experiences for end users - enabling even non-technical stakeholders to visualize and work with sophisticated models.
This is a full time, 4 days per week onsite position in San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the development of frontend tooling for simulation workflows, from initial design through to production deployment.
- Partner closely with product teams to translate deep technical capabilities into user-facing features aligned with customer needs.
- Build intuitive and high-performance interfaces for visualizing, editing, and labeling digital twins.
- Collaborate with applied science and engineering teams to transform CFD, FEA, and AI outputs into actionable visualizations.
- Integrate multiple data sources (e.g., LiDAR, drone data, ground data) into cohesive frontend experiences.
- Leverage off-the-shelf ML models to improve simulation preparation and property assessment workflows.
Key Qualifications
- 3–8 years of experience in frontend engineering, including building production-grade applications.
- Experience developing 3D visualization tools for real-world, physics-based environments (non-gaming).
- Proven track record shipping and maintaining complex frontend systems in production.
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments.
- Degree in a technical or quantitative field such as Computer Science, Physics, or Applied Mathematics.
- Strong frontend architecture skills using TypeScript, React, and 3D libraries such as Three.js or React Three Fiber.
- Ability to understand and translate physics-based outputs (e.g., CFD or FEA) into user interfaces.
- Experience with backend systems or data pipelines is a plus.
