Job summary

The Judge Group seeks an IT Principal Front-Office Engineer in Boston, MA on-site three days a week for 1+ year engagements. You will lead technical work within Investment Risk, architect and deliver risk analytics tooling, and build data pipelines and dashboards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years Python, SQL, and experience with agentic programming tools, Plotly/Dash, and Git. Strong communication and independence in fast-paced finance environments are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional Python experience; hands-on and expert level.
• Strong SQL skills with financial datasets and data manipulation.
• Experience using Agentic Programming tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude).
• Experience designing systems in data-rich environments.
• Familiarity with Python libraries: Pandas, NumPy.
• Experience with front-end development or Pythonic UI/visualization (Plotly, Dash).
• Strong Git and version control experience.
• Ability to communicate complex tech concepts to stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail. Understanding of financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead within the Investment Risk team.
• Design, architect, and implement apps, prototypes, and tools for risk analytics.
• Develop AI-enabled workflows using agentic programming tools.
• Build systems processing large, complex financial datasets.
• Collaborate with Risk Directors and investment teams to deliver solutions.
• Iterate on prototypes and drive to production.
• Build and maintain Python apps, data pipelines, APIs, and visualizations.
• Develop reporting, dashboards, and data models for risk workflows.
• Ensure high-quality, scalable code and standards.
• Work onsite in Boston three days per week and participate in 2-3 rounds of onsite interviews.
