Job summary

Adelante Healthcare Goodyear is seeking a Front Office Assistant to greet patients, check-in/out via EPM, verify eligibility, handle cashier tasks, schedule and confirm appointments, and manage front desk clerical duties.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, communicating effectively, maintaining records, and supporting the Integrated Care Team while upholding Adelante's values of Inclusion, Nurture, and Service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR/AED certification per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.
  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by AZ DPS for specialty behavioral health locations.
  • Effective communication demonstrated by ability to read, interpret, comprehend, and comply with written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for use in a healthcare setting.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Windows, MS Office, and internet.
  • Ability to problem-solve independently or with team/leadership support.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-stress, fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all patients and offer assistance or direct them appropriately.
  • Answer the phone, greet callers, determine call reason, resolve issues or refer.
  • Maintain and distribute patient documentation in an organized manner.
  • Accurately enter patient demographics and other required information into the PRS.
  • Obtain patient registration info and enter into computer system.
  • Identify financial status regarding sliding fee scale, insurance, or discounts; refer to eligibility as needed.
  • Verify third‑party payer coverage and billing information.
  • Prepare and balance the individual financial daily batch for processing.
  • Handle cash drawer and daily receipts accurately.
  • Schedule patient appointments via the computerized PM.
  • Scan documents into the electronic health record.
  • Participate in Adelante UDS measures, meaningful use metrics, and other quality initiatives.
  • Educate patients regarding services such as the Integrated Care Model, Patient Portal, and other specialty service lines.

Position Summary

The Front Office Assistant position provides direct customer service to patients. Duties include but are not limited to check‑in and check‑out via EPM, verify insurance eligibility, provide cashier services, schedule and confirm appointments, answer incoming phone calls, perform clerical activities, maintain office supplies, and scan medical records.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Certification to perform CPR and AED per American Heart Association / Red Cross guidelines (cognitive and skills evaluations)
  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations
  • Effective communication demonstrated by ability to read, interpret, comprehend, and comply with written and verbal communication

  • Travel to other health centers to meet operational needs for provider and patient coverage
