Job summary

Panzarella Waste in South Florida is seeking a reliable Front Load Driver to operate refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned routes with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You will use tablets and GPS to locate addresses, load and unload waste, interact with customers, and maintain a clean, well‑performing truck. CDL is required and a clean driving record is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements and clean driving record.
• Experience operating Front Load collection trucks preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and waste management practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate garbage truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste.

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Front Load Driver capable of operating refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned and special routes. Our team of drivers is exceptional and the ideal candidate takes pride in safety, excellence, and skill.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste


• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.


• Regularly deliver and empty large containers for our commercial customers


• Maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back up


• Regularly open enclosure doors to access containers


• Roll 2-4 yard containers on castors weighing up to 600 pounds into position for emptying


• Ensure enclosures are free of loose trash before replacing containers


• Courteously interact with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or politely directs them to contact Customer Service or Sales Representative for additional information


• Notifies supervisor of issues requiring management action


• Uses a keymap and GPS to locate service addresses


• Follows safe operating practices, including policies and procedures to ensure proper operation of the truck and the safety of others.


• Maintains clean truck and washes exterior weekly


• Clean truck daily ensuring it is free of loose trash and packer blade is free of waste


• Inspect truck (Lift and inspect under the hood, walk around and check undercarriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires - Uses air gauge, dipstick for levels, and gas pump nozzle for gas fill)


• Use and operate technology and programs used by the company (tablets, computers, GPS systems, etc.)


• Complete Route sheet, records mileage, fuel consumption, logbook (as required), vehicle condition reports, and other forms.


• Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor

Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.


• Proven experience driving Front Load trucks.


• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in waste management.


• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks as required.
