Job summary

CarMax Salt Lake City is seeking ambitious individuals to join the Front-Line Manager in Training program. This six-week development track equips you with the leadership skills and operational know-how to manage store processes and guide high-performing teams in Service Operations.

Upon completion, you transition into a leadership role such as Flow Mechanical Manager, Flow Supply Manager, or Service Manager, with opportunities to influence inventory, repair workflows, and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and manage teams effectively to achieve operational goals.
• Strong data interpretation and record accuracy for process compliance.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for interactions with associates and customers.
• Willingness to work on varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• 3+ years of management experience preferred.

Position Overview

As a Front-Line Manager in Training, you will participate in a structured six-week development program designed to prepare you for success as a Front-Line Manager within CarMax’s Service Operations department. This program equips you with the tools, knowledge, and leadership skills needed to manage operational processes and lead high-performing teams. Training includes learning the roles and responsibilities of Service Operations, understanding end-to-end production processes such as inventory management, and cosmetic/mechanical repair. Upon successful completion, you will transition into one of the following leadership roles: Flow Mechanical Manager, Flow Cosmetic Manager, Flow Supply Manager, Inventory Manager, or Service Manager.

Required Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interactions with associates and customers.
• Proficiency in common and proprietary software systems.
• Valid Driver’s License and flexibility to work in indoor/outdoor environments, including inclement weather.
• Willingness to work on varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with occasional travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience preferred.
