Responsibilities

• Supports and leads safety-focused efforts to maintain an injury-free environment.
• Completes onboarding and proficiency curriculum for FLL.
• Coordinates and leads teams to support high-performance work.
• Leads and coaches for engagement and achievement of mill goals.
• Manages daily shift operations with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Provides feedback and coaching to ensure a productive, safe work environment.
• Communicates with team members and mill leadership on safety, quality, cost and production issues.
• Ensures application of facility policies and standards.
• Conducts meaningful one-to-one discussions to set expectations and motivate the crew.
• Leads troubleshooting of operation issues and ensures customer requirements are met.
• Develops, maintains, and uses reliable methods for processes and improvements.
• Supports other team members to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
• Builds and maintains team relationships; fosters a positive attitude.

The Job You Will Perform

• Supports and leads efforts at Bogalusa Mill that include an injury-free environment through role modeling safe behavior, active involvement in safety activities, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
• Completes the First Line Leader (FLL) Onboarding/Proficiency Curriculum.
• Coordinates and leads efforts to support high performance work teams.
• Leadership role in ensuring team member relations, efforts, and processes are in place to maximize team member engagement and results.
• Leads, provides guidance, and/or supports teams as needed to achieve small team goals, daily responsibilities, and overall achievement of mill goals.
• Manages daily shift operations in their assigned area and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Provides feedback, coaching, support and, when necessary, take corrective measures, to ensure all team members have a positive, productive, and safe work environment.
• Communicates as needed with team members and mill leadership for resolution of safety, quality, cost, production, and personnel issues.
• Communicates and leads the application of facility policies and standards.
• Hold meaningful one-to-one discussions with members of the utilities crew; set clear expectations for both team and individuals and motivate team members to strive for success. Coaches safety in others and leads by example.
• Provides leadership to troubleshoot operation issues.
• Understands and meets internal and external customer requirements.
• Develops, maintains, and uses reliable methods for all processes and their improvements.
• Assists other team members in the mill as necessary to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
• Maintains and develops team relationships.
• Positive, upbeat attitude that instills confidence in personal leadership ability.
• Manage Lockout/ Hot Work and Vessel entry programs.
• Fulfills area specific 5S expectation.

The Qualifications, Skills And Knowledge You Will Bring

• High School Diploma or GED
• Demonstrated and successful leadership ability in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of and leadership in manufacturing safety practices.
• Must have a high level of integrity, energy, and leadership ability to develop and lead others.
• Demonstrated and successful ability to lead and continuously improve team performance in order to work injury-free, provide a quality product, and achieve world class productivity in support of a high-performance work system.
• Effective oral and written communications skills with proven ability to provide positive and improvement feedback, coaching opportunities, and take corrective measures as appropriate.
• Strong computer skills required.

• College Degree Preferred
• Excellent skills in organizing, planning, priority setting, and time management, with proven ability to adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
• Ability to effectively facilitate problem solving or conflict resolution processes
