Job summary

Mid Pacific Country Club in Kailua, Hawaii seeks a seasonal Front Gate Attendant to manage entry, verify decals and passes, and assist members and staff during a four-month term. This hourly, non-exempt role includes logging duties and enforcing entry rules at the gate.

Candidates should know state and local laws and club policies, stay calm with difficult guests, and respond to emergencies when needed. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED are required.

• Knowledge of applicable state and local laws and the club’s policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate self-restraint in challenging unruly or unauthorized guests or service providers or in handling other difficult situations.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and keeps an active gate and other required logs.
• Checks all vehicles and person(s) for entry authorization by observing valid decals/passes and/or visitor logs. Issues authorized decal/pass and allows driver entry.
• Turns away all unauthorized person(s) that cannot be verified by a decal/pass, visitor log or a phone call.
• Assists other agencies, and vendors as requested.
• Performs security patrol functions.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

DEPARTMENT: Outside Services JOB TITLE: Front Gate Attendant

JOB TYPE: Hourly/Non-Exempt

BASIC FUNCTION: Control access to the club by checking vehicles for proper decals/passes, allowing entry only to members, designated guests, and employees. Issues authorized decals/passes; and allows entry to authorized destinations by all law enforcement agencies, ambulance services, and fire trucks.
