Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Associate to serve as the frontline contact for customers, stock shelves, build displays, and assist with checkout duties. The role requires basic cash handling, familiarity with plan-o-grams, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, greeting customers, and operating the cash register.

Qualifications

Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Understanding of safety policies and practices.
Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
Basic mathematical skills.
Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks.
Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
Build merchandise displays and rotate/face stock.
Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
Operate cash register, process payments, bag merchandise and make change.
Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
Clean front end of store, stockroom, and restock supplies.
Greet customers and comply with company policies.
