Job summary

Safeway is hiring a Front-End Team Member in Mesa, AZ. You will focus on delivering a smooth checkout experience, assist customers, and help keep the front end organized and running efficiently throughout the shift.

You’ll handle transactions, restock supplies, and assist with bagging while adapting to changing priorities in a busy store. Prior customer service is preferred but not required; training is provided.

Another part of the role is keeping the front end organized, clean, and running consistently throughout the day. You’ll rotate between tasks like handling transactions, collecting carts, restocking supplies, and maintaining the checkout area. With a steady flow of customers and changing priorities, the work stays active, making it a good fit for someone who enjoys variety and staying engaged in a fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older (or 18 years of age or older, depending on local/state requirements)
• Completion of company cashier or front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required
