Job summary

Amazon in Seattle, WA is seeking a Front End Engineer to design, develop, test, and deliver high-performance web experiences for our Workforce Solutions team. You will collaborate with product and backend teams to build scalable, user-friendly interfaces that empower hundreds of thousands of Amazonians.

You will work with modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks like React and Angular, focusing on code quality, performance, and user-centric design while leveraging AWS-native services where

Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship front-end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, OOD)
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
• 1+ years of agile software development experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Drive development of end-to-end services and processes for pay, training, and job choices for hourly associates.
• Build extensive pay premium, training, and career mobility options.
• Use modern technologies to solve complex problems at scale.
• Deliver scalable, high-performance services with low latency for diverse workflows and country-specific rules.
• Own automation of business processes in a full-stack, primarily server-less environment using AWS services.
• Scale services to serve hundreds of thousands of Amazonians in real time.

Key job responsibilities

• Drive the development of the end-to-end services and processes to give Amazon hourly associates options for pay, training, and job choices


• Build the most extensive pay premium, job training, and career mobility options on earth


• Use modern technologies to solve complex problems at scale


• Deliver solutions that scale in volume and handle the complexity of diverse workflows and country specific rules/regulations.


• Own automation of business processes in a full stack, mostly server-less environment using proven, as well as evolving native AWS services and other technologies to create a friction free user experience.


• Solve the challenging problem of scaling these services to serve hundreds of thousands of Amazonians across the globe in real-time


• Be a technical innovator that is not afraid to challenge the norms and innovate.


• Execute against project plans and delivery commitments.


• Build highly available, scalable, and performant tier-one services to power responsive, intuitive, and sleek experiences for customers.


• Solve complex business and technical problems by diving deep, collecting data to make well informed decisions, and using sound judgement in the face of insufficient data.


• Work with the latest technologies to innovate on behalf of the associates.

A day in the life

As a Front End Engineer, you'll spearhead Amazon's talent acquisition technology. You'll design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain innovative services that power our global recruiting efforts. Your role involves crafting cutting-edge products, debugging complex systems, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-performance software. You'll create scalable, flexible solutions with low latency and high throughput, directly impacting Amazon's ability to attract top talent worldwide.

The Workforce Solutions team enables Amazon to be the employer of choice for hourly workers by offering them the fastest path to a consistent and flexible hourly job with opportunities to earn more and grow their skill sets, resulting in more value for customers as we better absorb variability and lower costs. We build capabilities and programs that enable flexible job management for associates. Our team is dedicated to supporting our members.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience


• 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience


• Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience


• Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
