GDIT (General Dynamics IT) is seeking a Front End Engineer to work with EPA government customers and fellow developers to create advanced software tools for scientific applications.
You will contribute to front-end applications using API/microservice backends, refactor existing apps into modular components, and document designs in Confluence while supporting testing for robust performance.
This role offers remote work from any location and a full-flex schedule with a standard 40-hour week.
You will work directly with our government customers and with other GDIT developers and business analysts to create advanced software tools tailored to scientific applications. You’ll apply new approaches, principles, methods, techniques and tools compatible with the research environment within EPA.
The Front End Engineer will support the design, development, programming, testing, and maintenance of multiple front-end applications that access chemical, exposure, ecology, and biology data. These applications will be enabled by backend services in the form of APIs and microservices, ensuring flexibility and scalability. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts, Enterprise Architects, and developers to develop dynamic web applications using a fit‑for‑purpose technology stack.
You will refactor existing applications and develop prototypes into optimized, modular components for integration into new and existing applications. You will document design and implementation techniques in Atlassian’s Confluence. You will support automated integration, system, security, user acceptance, and regression testing to deliver robust application performance.
