Job summary

GFL Environmental, Inc is seeking Front-End Drivers to operate front-load trucks on local routes serving commercial and multi-family properties. You will collect waste and recyclables and transfer to transfer stations or landfills.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial truck driving experience OR a CDL school certificate.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Pass safety background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-load trucks on local routes to collect waste and recyclables from commercial/multi-family customers.
• Safely transfer collected waste to transfer stations, landfills, or drop-off locations.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT and company standards.
• Open containers/gates and position 3-4 yard cans for dumping as needed.
• Interact courteously with customers and the public as the face of GFL.

Front-End Drivers operate front-end trucks that provide services to a variety of multi-family residential and commercial routes removing and transporting waste or recyclables in fulfillment of customer contracts. This position will service multiple customers per day according to assigned routes. The waste will then need to be transferred to the appropriate station, landfill or drop-off location.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial frontload trucks along assigned local routes to collect solid waste and recyclables from commercial and multi-family residential customers.
• Safely transfer collected waste to designated transfer stations, landfills, or drop-off locations.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting vehicle conditions as required by company and DOT standards.
• Open container enclosures or gates, maneuvering 3-4 yard cans on castors into position for dumping as needed.
• Interact courteously with customers and the public along your route, serving as a trusted face of GFL.
• Clean loose trash off the truck and surrounding area to maintain clean, safe customer sites.
• Follow all safe operating practices, DOT regulations, and company safety rules.

Qualifications & Requirements

• License: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of commercial truck driving experience OR a valid CDL school certificate.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs repetitively, and maneuver equipment in tight spaces.
• Safety First: Ability to pass safety background criteria, drug screening, and demonstrate safe truck operation.
