Job summary

ShopRite of Galloway is seeking a Customer Service/Courtesy Counter Clerk in Village NJ to provide a great customer experience at the front end. The role includes scanning, pricing, bagging, processing payments, handling returns, and answering inquiries with accuracy and courtesy.

The position requires English proficiency, basic math, stamina to stand for shifts, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. It emphasizes safety, friendliness, and efficiency in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Must be able to stand/walk for a full shift.
• Regularly lift 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Able to work with products and cleaning agents.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Work well with others and follow schedules.
• Must be 18+ to operate certain machines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Enter customer information for program eligibility.
• Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Know product locations and stock items appropriately.
• Handle returns per company policy and issue refunds as needed.
• Answer phones professionally and direct inquiries as policy dictates.
• Perform duties in accordance with ShopRite priorities and safety standards.
