Rivers Co-op Markets in Saint Paul, MN is hiring Front End Clerks to create excellent customer experiences, handle transactions, and maintain a welcoming, well-stocked department.

The role involves greeting customers, assisting with bagging, and promoting donations and memberships while ensuring safety and cleanliness. Training is available for those without prior cash handling or grocery experience.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Front End Clerks make sure customers have a great experience by greeting customers, ensuring timely and accurate transactions, assisting with bagging, and offering friendly, and caring service. They will ask customers to take part in our monthly donation campaign and sell memberships. Clerks also make sure the department is clean, well-stocked, and looks good. They ensure our products and practices follow all safety rules. Additionally, they help out with tasks in other parts of the store.

• Retail Experience: Experience in fast paced retail setting
• Cash Handling: Direct experience in cash handling; knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, including counting, and verifying transaction amounts
• Multilingual: Communicates in more than one language

Physical and Working Requirements:

The position involves frequent stationary tasks, along with regular movement within the Front End, store, and storage areas. Occasional positioning is required to access both low and high shelving, equipment, and products. The job also entails the frequent movement of containers weighing up to 50 lbs. Front End Clerks utilize various equipment including but not limited to a POS system. This role requires exchanging accurate information in person, over the phone, and over the store loudspeakers. Additionally, Front End Clerks may be exposed to cleaning products and loud noises.
