Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies invites applications for a Customer Service Clerk/Store Associate role at our Meridian, Idaho store. You will assist customers and process sales, operate the check stand, and help maintain a clean, efficient checkout area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Six months cashier experience at Customer Service Desk
• Minimum 18 years of age (19 in Idaho/Alaska for tobacco)
• Ability to pass drug test
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work weekends regularly, all shifts, and overtime as needed
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure
• Related retail experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, complete tender transactions, bag merchandise, make money drops, and know produce codes
• Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies
• Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area to standard
• Answer telephones and comply with corporate policies
• Promote and follow Company initiatives
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated/removed at point of sale
• Respond to EAS pedestal activations and verify tag removal as needed
• Maintain all store accounting functions
• Prepare bank deposits of excess funds (cash and checks)
• Open and close Customer Service Desk
• Process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, bill pay, gift cards, purchase orders, equipment rentals
• Provide lottery service (except Alaska) and fish/game licenses
• Send/receive faxes
• Administer lost and found
• Handle conflicts calmly and honestly with customers and business info
• Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
