What you’ll do:

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and direct them to appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Manage patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate data entry.
  • Collect and verify patient insurance details, confirm eligibility and process any co-pays and payments at time of service.
  • Educate patients on insurance benefits, including in-network vs. out-of-network coverage.
  • Ensure that necessary forms are completed and on file (i.e. Insurance forms, insurance referrals, authorizations and/or waivers).
  • Schedule follow up appointments, document cancelled or rescheduled appointments.
  • Submit daily payment collection reports.
  • Manage record requests and releases in collaboration with Medical Records Department.
  • Open and close office.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful work environment through positive interactions with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
Qualifications

Who you are:

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, workers compensation, no fault and HIPPA regulations.
  • Experience working in a clinical setting required, orthopedics experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records systems, ModMed a plus and general office software (Microsoft Suite, Teams, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
