Located in the north side Chicago suburb of Glenview, The Glen Club is a world-class daily fee golf club with corporate members. The facility includes a Tom Fazio designed golf course and a 50,000 square ft clubhouse that houses a golf shop, locker rooms, a full-service restaurant, spacious banquet facilities, overnight guest accommodations, three state-of-the-art golf simulators in The Bunker, home of the Illinois Golf Hall of Fame. The Glen Club is the current host to the Korn Ferry NV5 Invitational, a Western Golf Association event supporting the Evans Scholars Foundation.

Position Summary

Provides friendly and hospitable service for hotel guests including taking reservations, conducting check-in and check-out procedures, greeting and interacting with guests, and providing information and/or assistance regarding hotel policies, amenities, and local sights.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Take golf, restaurant, and hotel reservations over the phone and/or in person. Provide guests with all pertinent information regarding hotel policies (cancellation, dress code, etc.).
  2. Perform check-in procedures for hotel guests, including entering credit card information, signing registration slips, and making keys.
  3. Offer friendly, positive, and hospitable service at all times. Provide information about hotel amenities and local area. Support hotel policies publicly.
  4. Perform check-out procedures, billing charges accurately, and present guest folios.
  5. Communicate with the next shift via verbal handover and log notes for smooth operations.
  6. Report guest issues, billing disputes, and unusual situations to management.
  7. Promote hotel amenities to maximize revenue.
  8. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • No experience necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; flexible hours including evenings/weekends.
  • Positive attitude, professional manner, and appearance.
Must Have the Ability To
  • Read and write in English.
  • Communicate verbally with staff and guests, with or without radios.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Visually inspect work areas.
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, lift, bend, and kneel for up to 5 hours.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally, 10 lbs frequently, and 5 lbs constantly.
