PM Pediatric Care in Washington, DC is seeking a Front Desk Associate to greet families, manage registrations, and support the medical team with courteous, first-class service. This role emphasizes organized front desk functions, HIPAA compliance, and accurate data handling within a patient-centered environment.

You will manage patient admissions, demographics and insurance information, and monitor patient flow.

Responsibilities

  • Greets families professionally in person and on the phone.
  • Answers patient/family questions and seeks guidance when needed.

  • Collaborates with site leadership to manage complex issues.
  • Guides families through PM systems before, during, and after visits.

  • Keeps workflows and responsibilities up to date.
  • Registers patients and maintains accurate demographic and insurance data with HIPAA compliance.
  • Manages incoming patient documents and mail securely.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient accounts and HIPAA compliance.
  • Performs opening/closing duties including stocking and sanitizing.
  • Executes other duties as assigned.

Description

To perform this job successfully and provide our families with a First-class Experience that is Efficient and Accurate , an individual must be able to carry out each essential job duty satisfactorily.   • Greets families professionally both in person and on the phone.
  • Answers patient/family questions to the best of his or her ability and/or seeks clarification and instruction when needed
  • Accesses empathy and active listening in difficult interpersonal situations
  • Supports patient care quality initiatives as directed
  • Coordinates escalations and urgent issues to ensure timely and complete resolutions
  • Collaborates and communicates with site leadership to facilitate management of complex patient issues
  • EmploysPM Pediatric Care’s Core valuestohelp patients, families, and other team members navigatePM systems before, during,and after a visit
  • Monitors and manages patient flow throughout the waiting and registration process including assisting families with initiating the self-registration process
  • Is in alignment with all distributed education to keep current on workflows, responsibilities, and technology
  • Registers all patients and maintains accurate and complete patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating demographics, insurance, and financial informationwhile maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Manages and acts upon all incoming patient documents, mail and correspondence utilizing proper documentation and storage
  • Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all patient accounts and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines
  • Performs opening and closing duties including but not limited to organizing, stocking, sanitizing, and reconciling
  • Executes other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Team player that can function independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible work schedules based on office needs. At times, it may require travel to another site within reason
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and friendly demeanor
  • Quality focused and detail oriented
  • Ability to calculate simple figures such as adding up receipts, counting cash drawers or subtracting to give change.
  • Outstanding time management, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Superior situational awareness and ability to successfully react to urgent situations
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment and knowledge of medical insurance preferred
  • Socially perceptive and ability to relate to children and how they interact with their families
  • Comfortability with routinely shifting demands
  • Navigate multiple computer systems
  • Prior Front Desk, concierge, customer service or other hospitality experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED

Compensation:
$17 - $28/hour

The salary/rate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary/rate for this role. Please note that actual salaries/rates may vary within this range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and based on experience and qualifications.
