Job summary

Pet Paradise's Birmingham resort is seeking a friendly Front Desk Associate to warmly welcome pet parents and their guests, manage check-ins/outs, answer calls and emails, and ensure a smooth, first-rate experience at every visit.

Qualifications

• One to two years in a customer service role (Customer Service, Call Center, Receptionist)
• Detail-oriented with urgency and exceptional customer service
• Cheerful, friendly, and a positive team-oriented attitude
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail
• Enjoys problem solving to provide our guests and customers with a premier experience
• Role requires physical labor, including pet handling, walking, and standing for long periods
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs and comfortable around dogs of all sizes
• Schedule flexibility including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times

Responsibilities

• Welcome pet parents and their pets, providing a positive first interaction
• Organize and process check-ins and check-outs
• Walk pets for drop-off and pickup and coordinate suite placement
• Answer phone calls, voicemails, and emails promptly
• Perform cashier and point-of-sale operations
• Communicate and follow through with pet parents and resort leadership
• Maintain entrance lobby and restrooms; keep cat room clean
• Coordinate with veterinary service team regarding appointments and arrivals
• Handle harnesses at check-in/check-out and prepare suites for pets
• Assist with other resort tasks as needed

Starting Rate: $13.50/hour ($0.50 increase 6 months from hire date, additional $0.50 increase on annual anniversary date)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF OUR FRONT DESK ASSOCIATE INCLUDE:

• This is not your normal front desk job! Get ready to ensure a positive first interaction by welcoming pet parents and their pets (our 'guests') as they enter the resort while smiling and conversing


• Organizing and processing check-ins and check-outs


• Walking our four-legged friends for drop off and pickup and coordinating suite placement while ensuring all needs are met


• Answering in-coming phone calls; listening, and responding to voicemails; and responding to emails- all in a timely, problem-solving manner


• Completing cashier and point of sale operations


• Communicating and following through with pet parent and resort leadership requests
  
• Maintaining cleanliness of the entranceway and lobby, including the restrooms


• Responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and supporting the cat room (per resort routines)


• Acting as a liaison to veterinary service team; veterinary appointment status and arrivals.


• Responsible for taking off and putting on harnesses at check in and check out


• Making sure suites are set up for each pet


• Familiar with different types of harnesses

QUALIFICATIONS TO BE A FRONT DESK ASSOCIATE:

• Flexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak times
