Position Overview:

The Member Service Representative (MSR) is responsible for delivering the Ultimate Service Process by providing superior customer service to our members and guests. The MSR will drive potential members into the gym and deliver industry-leading customer services while exceeding personal revenue targets issued by management. Additionally, the MSR will support club operations and ensure the gym is kept clean and tidy for all gym-goers.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. In-depth knowledge of sales practices and techniques.
  2. General understanding of the Fitness Industry.
  3. Ability to work with computers.
  4. Independent, self-starter with strong organizational skills.
  5. Must be a team player.
  6. Must be energetic and possess a friendly, outgoing personality with a positive attitude.
  7. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
  8. Strong customer service focus, diplomacy, and professionalism.
  9. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  10. Able to multi-task and perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

Front Desk Customer Service Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure guests and members are warmly greeted and promptly assisted.
  2. Answer incoming calls in a professional and efficient manner.
  3. Follow proper member check-in procedures.
  4. Respond effectively to member questions, requests, and concerns, escalating to management if unable to resolve.
  5. Maintain the Maintenance Log, Fitness profiles, telephone inquiries, and group fitness reservations.
  6. Report or escalate any unsafe conditions or emergency situations to management immediately.
  7. Provide the highest level of customer service possible when communicating and interacting with guests.

Club Operations Responsibilities:

  1. Call past due members regarding late dues and down payments.
  2. Partner with maintenance and janitorial staff to address any maintenance or cleanliness issues around the club.
  3. Assist in maintaining a clean and operational facility.
  4. Accountable for saving members requesting to cancel their membership; if unable to convince a member to stay, a manager must meet the member and sign off on the cancellation.

Lead Generation, Membership Tours and Presentations, & Personal Production Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that 100% of guests are presented the “Fitness Tour” when touring guests around the gym.
  2. Use the company-approved presentation when presenting membership options to non-members.
  3. Ensure Personal Sales goals are met or exceeded each month.
  4. Participate in gym special events and create leads through each interaction.

Minimum Certifications/Educational Level:

  1. High school degree or GED required.
  2. Must complete company sales training and orientation program.
