Front Desk Agent - AC Hotel MPLS Downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota

AC Hotels encompass Spanish roots, European soul, and a global mindset. A timelessly modern hotel at an unusually smart value lifestyle brand. The AC Hotel by Marriott Minneapolis is located in downtown Minneapolis at the intersection of 4th and Hennepin, across 4th Street from the Minneapolis Public Library. This 9-story, 245-key hotel features an AC lounge and bar, AC library, media salons, meeting space, a boardroom, and a fitness center, connecting to the City skyway system.

Sage Hospitality is set to hire for the AC Hotel Minneapolis Downtown. You will bring a creative spirit that makes this AC Marriott come to life, while precisely managing operations to keep the hotel profitable.

Job Overview

Respond professionally and courteously to arriving, departing, and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services. Handle telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.

Responsibilities
  1. Greet guests and complete check-in procedures daily using manual and computerized methods to ensure guest satisfaction and room requests are met.
  2. Facilitate guest departures (check-out) by following established procedures to close guest accounts and prepare rooms for the next guest.
  3. Calculate and post monies, receipts, guest accounts, and credit transactions accurately, maintaining precise hotel records.
  4. Answer inquiries and accept reservations in person and by phone, communicating hotel rates and information accurately, and using suggestive selling techniques to increase occupancy and revenue.
  5. Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about hotel and area functions to respond timely and knowledgeably to guest questions and concerns.
  6. Operate PBX equipment for incoming and outgoing calls, schedule wake-up calls, and assist with guest paging for efficient service.
  7. Control cash transactions at the front desk and manage personal bank responsibilities as per hotel policy.
  8. Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
Qualifications
Education/Formal Training

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience

FOSSE experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills

High school mathematical aptitude, knowledge of cash handling procedures, and familiarity with computerized cash register systems. Experience in customer service, fluency in English, tactfulness in handling stressful situations, organizational skills, and attention to detail are required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to read written communications and operate computers, calculators, and telephones. The role involves prolonged standing, occasional bending, kneeling, carrying, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Ability to reach all hotel areas and work in a climate-controlled environment is necessary.
