Overview

The Front Office Agent is responsible for providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

Responsibilities
  1. Answer guest inquiries regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
  2. Follow all cash handling and credit policies.
  3. Be aware of all rates, packages, and promotions listed in the Red Book.
  4. Familiarize with all in-house groups and restricted dates.
  5. Obtain necessary information for reservations and follow rate-quoting procedures.
  6. Be knowledgeable of hospitality terminology and emergency procedures.
  7. Handle check-ins and checkouts courteously and efficiently.
  8. Use proper radio etiquette when communicating with staff.
  9. Operate all relevant front desk computer systems.
  10. Complete shift tasks and reports timely, including bucket checks and rate verifications.
  11. Balance and prepare shift paperwork according to hotel standards.
  12. Maintain promotional and guest program information.
  13. Keep work area clean and assist guests with safe deposit boxes.
Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
  2. Experience in hospitality preferred.
  3. Computer skills required.
  4. Customer service experience preferred.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain professionalism.
  7. Maintain attendance and grooming standards.
  8. Ability to handle problems proactively and maintain confidentiality.
  9. Cross-training in hotel operations is a plus.
