Job Responsibilities
- Book guest reservations and coordinate with the reservation center.
- Register guests promptly and courteously, using up-selling techniques to maximize room rates; prepare for group check-ins, check-outs, and VIP arrivals; greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
- Handle confidential guest records with integrity.
- Answer and route calls appropriately; take accurate guest messages.
- Assist with sales and marketing efforts as directed by the General Manager.
- Offer and handle requests for wake-up calls.
- Record guest information in the pass-on log.
- Replenish continental breakfast items as needed and maintain cleanliness.
- Ensure the lobby and common areas are clean.
- Perform laundry functions as directed.
- Check guests in and out, process payments following policies.
- Answer phone calls promptly and friendly.
- Promote hotel services, facilities, and upcoming events.
- Assist guests with inquiries about the property and local attractions; arrange transportation when needed.
- Use creative reasoning to address guest objections and ensure satisfaction.
- Resolve minor guest complaints; escalate major issues to supervisors.
- Respond quickly to guest requests and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
- Complete daily paperwork, including cashing out and documenting transactions.
- Manage departmental accounting, post charges, and prepare deposits.
- Balance cash at shift start and end.
- Use communication equipment effectively.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
