Job summary

Devil Mountain Wholesale Nursery is seeking a customer-focused Front Counter Sales professional in Vista, CA to greet walk-in customers and guide plant selection. You will process transactions, coordinate with yards and sales teams, and help ensure accurate orders in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes strong plant knowledge, customer interaction, and attention to detail, with occasional Saturdays and onsite work. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Sales and customer service experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence handling live customer transactions.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Ability to manage multiple customers and processes simultaneously.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Nursery or landscape industry experience.
• Plant identification and product knowledge.
• Inventory system experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage walk-in customers in a professional and service-driven manner.
• Assess customer needs and guide plant selection.
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS and inventory systems.
• Support will-call check-in and order pickup.
• Provide product availability, specifications, and location guidance.
• Communicate with Yard staff to ensure efficient order fulfillment.
• Support the Sales Team with estimates and order entry as needed.
• Determine wholesale vs. non-wholesale status for trade customers.
• Participate in inventory counts and company initiatives.
