Job summary

Hy‑Vee in Minnesota is seeking a Fast & Fresh Clerk to provide prompt, friendly service and operate the cash register. You will help customers, stock displays, and maintain store cleanliness in a fast-paced environment. This role emphasizes customer care and efficient transactions in a busy department.

Must be comfortable handling payments, assisting with inventory, and upholding hygiene and safety standards while delivering an engaging shopping experience.

Qualifications

• No education or experience requirements.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Excellent communication and friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, and noting customer suggestions or requests to improve the shopping experience.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Operates cash register accurately and scans product, reports improper cash levels in cash drawer.
• Redeems promotional coupons, food stamps, cash, checks, credit-card transactions, and issues receipts.
• Keeps displays stocked, checks in delivered merchandise, and maintains clean, organized work areas.
