Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers and making every visit a great one.
• Operate the cash register and process all payment types including cash, checks, credit cards, coupons, and food benefit programs.
• Count back change, issue receipts, and provide refunds or credits as needed.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding WIC, food stamps, tobacco, liquor, and lottery sales.
• Stock, face, and rotate merchandise; assist bagging and support service areas.
• Maintain a clean register area, report cash discrepancies, and ensure supplies are available.
• Communicate clearly with customers and staff; assist with promotions and events.
• Support other store areas as needed and adhere to Hy-Vee policies.
