Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking Vietnamese interpreters for onsite assignments in the Fresno, CA area on an independent contractor basis. You will perform consecutive interpretation between English and Vietnamese at client sites and may provide remote interpretation when needed.

The role requires professional fluency in English and Vietnamese, reliability for onsite travel, and adherence to privacy, security, and ethical standards in healthcare, education, or other settings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Professional proficiency in English and Vietnamese.
• Ability to provide consecutive interpretation between English and Vietnamese.
• Successful completion of interpreting proficiency evaluations.
• Resume in English during the application process.
• Basic computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to travel to onsite assignments.
• Background, security, and drug screening may be required for certain assignments.
• One or more years of professional interpreting experience.
• Experience in medical, legal, community, educational, or social-services interpreting.
• Relevant interpreter training, credentials, or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and Vietnamese during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable to an assignment.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, security, and data-protection requirements.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients and participants.
• Maintain language proficiency, terminology, and subject-matter knowledge.
