Job summary

Notre Dame Academy in Hingham is seeking a dedicated Freshman Girls Basketball Head Coach to lead the freshman program and develop young players on and off the court.

The role involves planning practices, preparing for games, and fostering a positive environment that emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and growth. Season runs November 30 through mid-February with practices 4–5 times per week after school.

Qualifications

• Develop and implement effective practice plans appropriate for Freshman-level student-athletes.
• Teach and reinforce basketball fundamentals, including ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defensive principles, offensive concepts, and overall game awareness.
• Help student-athletes develop the skills, habits, and understanding necessary to progress within the NDA Basketball program.
• Conduct organized and purposeful practices that promote individual skill development, team concepts, conditioning, and game readiness.
• Prepare the team for games and provide appropriate instruction and feedback during competition.
• Monitor individual and team progress while providing constructive feedback, encouragement, and support.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes respect, accountability, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with student-athletes, families, the Varsity coaching staff, and the Athletic Department regarding schedules, expectations, and program information.
• Support the philosophy and overall direction of the NDA Basketball program.
• Ensure adherence to school, Athletic Department, and safety expectations during all practices and games.
