Southbridge Public Schools Athletic Department in Southbridge, MA is seeking a Part-Time Freshman/Assistant Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 SY. Reports to the Athletic Director and participates in weekend activities. Salary ranges from $2,400 to $2,900 as a stipend. Citizenship/residency required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire program including safety and inventory of equipment.
• Communicate incidents to the Athletic Director regarding athletes or parents.
• Previous coaching experience in college, high school, or proven program.
• Monitor academics; enforce eligibility before athletics.
• Allow athletes to compete while promoting sportsmanship.
• Build positive community relationships to promote the sport.
• Teach and demonstrate skills, drills, and fundamentals.
• Manage and inventory all equipment.
• Be present at weekend activities.
• Supervise athletes before, during, and after practices/events.
• Attend coaching meetings as assigned.
• Evaluate progress of student athletes.
• Assist with fundraising and community support.
• Set scrimmages, game and practice schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.
