Job summary

Flint Community Schools in Flint, Michigan, seeks a Freshman Basketball Coach to develop and lead a competitive program at the assigned school. You will guide practices, teach game strategies, and mentor student-athletes balancing academics and athletics.

Teaching certification and coaching experience are preferred, with Coaches Assessment Program training. Residency within the district is preferred; collaborate with the Athletic Director and staff to ensure compliance with rules and strong

Qualifications

Education certification and coaching experience preferred.
Must complete Coaches Assessment Program training.
Knowledgeable in chosen sport.
Ability to monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
Effective communication with athletes, faculty, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

Develop athletic skills and life-long learning for student-athletes.
Coordinate with Athletic Director on policies, procedures and day-to-day operations of the sports program.
Explain interscholastic athletics role to players, parents and the public.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MHSAA rules, strategies and safety practices.
Model positive conduct and language for athletes and staff.
Promote academic standards alongside athletic performance.
Represent Flint Community Schools in a positive manner.
