Job summary

Cosentino's Price Chopper #416 in Saint Joseph, MO is seeking a Produce Clerk to assist customers with fresh produce from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., seven days a week. The role reports to the Produce Manager and is non-exempt.

Responsibilities include preparing, displaying, rotating stock, and maintaining department cleanliness while following Cosentino customer service standards. Ideal candidates will have a food handling permit within 14 days of employment and are encouraged to pursue ongoing

Qualifications

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Ongoing training and development per Cosentino Learning Plan.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Know and implement Cosentino Customer Service Standards.
• Prepare, package and neatly display all products in the produce department.
• Inspect product for freshness, damage, and dates and utilize proper rotation techniques.
• Operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards to produce desired team and individual results.
• Remove damaged, un-saleable or returnable product from shelves and follow damage-claims procedures.
• Keep work area and department clean and safe for customers and coworkers.
• Unload and stock shipments neatly without damaging merchandise.
• Label or price merchandise and obtain price signs when necessary.
• Be knowledgeable about department products, procedures and policies to answer questions.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve store management when needed.
• Comply with health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety procedures.
