Job summary

Gordon Food Service Store LLC is hiring a Full Time Fresh Merchandiser in Canton, OH. The role involves weekly ordering of fresh products, maintaining freshness, and ensuring quality and safety in the cooler and produce sections.

You will greet customers, assist with requests, and support merchandising with planograms and inventory control, while upholding our service standards and company values.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED or currently enrolled in a high school program
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• 1 year retail customer service experience with fresh products preferred
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Able to multitask
• Work on your own or within a team
• Basic math and computer skills

Responsibilities

• Determining amount and placing orders of fresh product from vendors weekly, focusing on sales, in-stock and margin shrink metrics, maintaining freshness levels and safety/health standards
• Provide superior customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with special requests and express orders
• Receive, inspect, and merchandise products accurately with proper rotation and quality
• Execute on end caps and planograms, maintain store backstock organization
• Assist with merchandising through sequencing, count verification, inventory adjustments, price verification and sign maintenance
• Safely operate power equipment such as slicing equipment, tow motors and forklifts
• Adhere to Gordon Food Service values and practices

Role: Full Time Fresh Merchandiser

• Determining amount and placing orders of fresh product from our vendors on a weekly basis, focusing on desired sales, in-stock, and margin shrink metricsaintaining freshness levels, dynamic presentation of product, and upholding safety/health standards in the cooler, fresh meat, and produce areas.
• Providing superior customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, suggestive selling, and assisting with special requests and express orders.
• Receiving, inspecting, and merchandising products accurately while ensuring proper rotation and quality.
• Executing on end cap and planograms alongside maintaining store backstock organization.
• Assisting with merchandising through sequencing, count verification, inventory adjustments, price verification, and sign maintenance.
• Safely operating power equipment, such as slicing equipment, tow motors, and forklifts.
