Job summary

POM Wonderful in California's Central Valley is seeking a Reliability Mechanic for the Beverage department. You will oversee, maintain, and perform tooling changes and setup, install and repair electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other processing equipment, ensuring safety and quality at every step.

You may be assigned to Plant 1, Plant 2, Arils or Scholar Department as needed, with emphasis on GMP, OSHA, and food-safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School or GED with additional technical field training.
• Two years of education beyond high school in maintenance/repair.
• One year experience in maintenance operations including supervisory duties.
• Ability to follow safety programs and food-safety policies.
• Ability to install and maintain basic electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all safety programs (OSHA) are followed.
• Follow GMP and food-safety procedures and audits.
• Inspect work for completeness and report to supervisor.
• Determine materials and tools needed for projects.
• Maintain PM records and transfer equipment across projects.
• Install, inspect, repair, and maintain systems in Beverage dept.
• Review major contract work and assist with new installations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Reliability Mechanic is responsible for, but not limited to overseeing, maintaining, performing tooling changes and setup. Installation and repair of electrical (minor electrical), plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and other production/processing equipment. They may be responsible for evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed. They may be assigned to the Plant 1, Plant 2, Arils or Scholar Department depending on the need or opening. All of these departments are part of the Fresh Department. The Reliability Mechanic must also keep Safety and Quality in mind when all tasks are performed by them or those they are responsible for overseeing.

Compensation - $22.00 - $30.00. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Job Description

• Ensure all company and OSHA safety programs are followed.
• Ensure all GMP policies and Food safety procedures are followed.
• Ensure all required GFSI, FDA, USDA, Third Party Audit, and company procedures and policies related to food safety are followed.
• Inspects work for completeness. Informs supervisor when job assignments / PM are complete and ready for inspection.
• Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used. Transfers equipment from one project to another as necessary.
• Keeps routine records and PM records up to date.
• Installs, inspects, repairs and maintains the electrical (minor electrical), plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other related systems in Beverage department.
• Inspects major contract work on mechanical and other related systems and assists when necessary in order to understand all new installations or changes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors/contractors.
• Ability to install, inspect, repair and maintain the basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other related systems.
• Ability to perform various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Ability to update inventories and other supplies as needed.
• Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions.
• Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
• Ability to weld MIG/TIG, stick, and sanitary.
• Ability to follow all food safety programs and policies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School or GED or related technical field. At least two years of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area. One year experience in maintenance operations including two years in a supervisory capacity. Other similar work or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.
