Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Food Clerk to deliver exceptional customer service and keep our Fresh departments running smoothly. You will engage customers, share product knowledge, and maintain clean, well‑stocked displays in a fast-paced grocery setting.

This role involves stocking, merchandising, using store technology, and following food safety procedures across Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery. Previous retail or food service experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Able to share product knowledge and help customers.
• Teamwork and positive attitude for a busy store.
• Comfort learning and using job-specific technology.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation is beneficial.
• Willingness to be physically active, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain fresh, visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise products to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks accurately.
