Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Michigan is seeking a friendly Food Clerk to join our Fresh departments. You will create a welcoming store experience, share product knowledge, and help customers find what they need while maintaining clean displays.

You’ll stock and rotate products, use technology to complete tasks, follow food safety procedures, and support multiple departments from Meat to Produce. Prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required, and physical activity is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or food service experience is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Comfort learning and using job‑specific technology and processes.
• Strong listening and communication skills for customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
