Mercor is seeking a French Linguistic Expert for a remote contract role. You will evaluate and refine French content generated by AI, ensuring accuracy across translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar correction.

You will annotate linguistic features, identify language gaps, and collaborate with AI researchers to improve model performance. Native or near-native French is required, with experience in NLP data work or translation. This role is remote and project-based.

Position: French Linguistic Expert

Type: Contract

Compensation: $50/hour

Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate the quality and accuracy of LLM-generated French text across various use cases such as translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar correction.
• Edit, refine, or rewrite French content to meet linguistic and cultural standards.
• Annotate French text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features.
• Identify model errors and language gaps.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance.
• Provide detailed linguistic feedback and analysis to guide ongoing model training efforts.

Qualifications Must-Have

• Native or near-native fluency in French with excellent command over grammar, syntax, and stylistics.
• Professional experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work in French.
• Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, regional variations, and context-appropriate usage.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot subtle errors or unnatural phrasing.
• Clear communication skills and experience working in distributed, remote teams.
