Job summary

Leidos is seeking a skilled French/Fulani linguist to support translation, interpretation, transcription and gisting tasks for national security programs from Reston, VA. The role emphasizes accuracy, cultural awareness, and the ability to handle diverse linguistic challenges, with Leidos sponsorizing language tests and security clearances for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities include translating between French/Fulani and English, performing consecutive and possibly simultaneous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4–8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2–6 years.
• Translation and/or interpretation degree is highly desired.
• HLT experience a plus.
• Must successfully complete a Leidos-administered language proficiency test or equivalent at the Primary level or higher.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic online research.
• All candidates must take and pass language tests administered by LEIDOS/an accepted commercial testing vendor.

Responsibilities

• Translate materials from French/Fulani into English and vice versa.
• Provide consecutive interpretation; simultaneous interpretation may be required.
• Transcribe audio and review content to produce high-quality English-language reports.
• Identify and summarize key facts and abstract concepts from large datasets.
• Travel as required; support the contract 24/7 when on travel.
