Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations in a fast-paced environment. You will develop procedures, manage workloads, schedule hourly staff, and ensure timely, damage-free customer freight.

The role requires robust leadership, strong communication, and compliance with FMCSR/OSHA/DOT rules. XPO offers health benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
  • Able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
  • Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet department demands.
  • Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
  • Supervise hourly staff across operations and act as primary contact for workplace concerns.
  • Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and admin duties.
  • Plan schedules to meet daily ops goals and lower costs.
  • Enforce all company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies.
  • Coach and develop employees on safety and quality requirements.
  • Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
  • Make recommendations regarding hiring, suspension and termination.
  • Develop action plans to improve load average and model compliance.
  • Participate in safety and engagement committees.
  • Train employees on safety rules and processes.
  • Inspect tools/equipment and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Provide improvement ideas for operations.
