Job summary

XPO Logistics Freight Inc. is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Carlisle, PA. The role oversees overnight hub shift operations and coordinates with regional service centers to optimize rehandle reductions, door plans, and linehaul performance.

You will enforce FMCSR, OSHA and DOT policies while leading a team to meet productivity targets. Preferred candidates have a background in LTL, safety compliance, and strong leadership, with the ability to multitask across shifts, including nights

Qualifications

  • 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead calls with regional Service Centers to review rehandle reduction results and door plans.
  • Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet the evolving demands of the department
  • Act as primary point of contact for network related questions and concerns from regional Service Centers
  • Ensure Linehaul goals are met by managing rehandle reduction, load average, departures, and other metrics.
  • Enforce all company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies, rules, regulations, and laws
  • Implement all applicable workplace policies and procedures and enforce compliance to optimize network performance
  • Ensure customer freight is processed, handled, loaded and delivered timely and damage free
  • Coach and develop employees on proper techniques and quality requirements
  • Effectively direct a team to consistently meet or exceed productivity goals
  • Make recommendations regarding hiring, suspension and termination
  • Develop and present action plans to improve load average and model compliance
  • Provide instruction, analyses, suggestions and ideas for improvement of operations within the shift and the service center
  • Act as a champion of XPO values by demonstrating them and holding your team to the same high standards

Job description

Career Opportunities: Freight Operations Supervisor (389319)

Hours: This position requires flexibility to work different shifts during training; however, this position will primarily work the overnight hub shift. The standard overnight schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m

  • 2 years of supervisory experience

  • LTL industry experience

  • Positive attitude with the ability to multitask and motivate your team

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and administrative skills
