Job summary

humano is hiring a Material Handler in Hesperia, CA. You will unload freight, sort shipments, and operate material handling equipment while following safety SOPs. The role offers a base pay of $17.00 per hour and daily access to earnings through DailyPay.

No extensive experience is required for many roles, and paid training is provided. This is a local, non-travel position with potential overtime during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience operating forklift or pallet jack is a plus.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving up to 75 lbs.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, with overtime.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Unload and break down freight onto pallets according to SOP and meet productivity goals.
• Sort freight by PO# and SKU#.
• May operate various material handling equipment.
• Travel to work area, prepare materials, and complete cleanup and documentation.
• Ensure timely transition between tasks and proper handoff between shifts.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Supervisor or Site Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for unloading freight, with or without manual or powered equipment in a safe and efficient manner, at the direction of the Supervisor and/or Operations Management. Using manual operations and applicable material handling equipment the position is charged with the movement of freight, stock, or other materials or perform other general labor.

**1st Shift:** Monday to Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm Occasional overtime may be required during peak seasons.

Pay: The position has a base rate of $17.00 per hour

Note: This position is not a travel team role, and candidates are expected to be based locally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Unload and break down freight onto good wood pallets, in compliance with the SOP and at a pace that meets or exceeds productivity goals and standards
• Sort and organize freight by PO# and SKU#
• May be required to break down freight to Ti-Hi form
• May include operating various types of material handling equipment
• May include sorting, repacking and labeling, pallet repair, and other duties
• Work functions noted above will include travel to work area, area preparation and materials readiness at task start, as well as completion activities of cleanup and documentation closure. There will be a time allotment of up to no more than 20 minutes between jobs so as to ensure a smooth transition between work tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• 1 year previous warehouse experience preferred
• 6 months’ experience operating a forklift, electric pallet jack, or other warehouse material handling equipment a plus
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
• The ability to work in a physically demanding warehouse environment - continuously lifting and moving up to 75lbs
• The ability to meet fast-paced Client service, productivity goals and standards
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays AND work overtime, without advanced notice
• Required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
