Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker in the United States to move freight between dock areas and trailers, using forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks. Starting pay is $22.77 per hour with a shift from 03:00 to 09:00.

You will verify freight documentation, secure loads, assist customers, and perform hostling duties as needed, while complying with safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Pay

Hourly: $22.77 - $26.64

Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment.
