Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions Inc. is hiring Freight Handlers for a 10am-7pm shift in Des Moines, IA. This safety-sensitive role involves loading/unloading freight from trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and handcarts, with certification provided prior to work. Compensation is $24.00 per hour.

The position requires operating safety-sensitive equipment, good communication, and reliability to maintain service across our Western and Central U.S. network.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 90 pounds.
• At least 6 months of verifiable forklift experience.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must complete a pre-employment skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and/or hand cart.
• Use handheld scanners to track and document freight.
• Identify, sticker, and stage inbound freight.
• Verify freight condition to meet quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
