Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is hiring a Freight Forwarder Ocean Import to manage ocean import shipments, from carrier coordination to customs clearance, for customers in the McAllen, TX area.

The role requires experience in freight forwarding, strong communication, and knowledge of ocean import processes. This is a full-time position with compensation based on experience, within the company’s pay structure.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in freight forwarding/logistics preferred.
• Experience in ocean imports highly desirable.
• Fluency in English required.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean import shipments including customs clearance and delivery to final destination.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers and trucking companies for timely delivery.
• Track shipments and provide customers with updates as needed.
• Prepare and submit required documentation for customs clearance (invoices, bills of lading, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and deliver exceptional service.

Freight Forwarder Ocean Import

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Track shipments and provide updates to customers as needed
• Prepare and submit required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws
• Manage relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer service

Educational Background / Work Experience

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred
• Experience in ocean imports is highly desirable

For this position, the expected base pay range is $18.45 - $23.06 . Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
