Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure is seeking a Freight Audit Payment Specialist to optimize transportation invoicing, auditing controls, and timely payments across multi-currency operations. You will build analytics and automation with finance partners to drive cost reductions and accuracy.

As part of a diverse team, you’ll collaborate with Accounts Payable, Finance, and tech partners to implement policies, develop models, and deliver insights that impact the business on a global scale

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations experience
  • 5+ years of strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations
  • Experience in strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python
  • Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company

Responsibilities

  • Develop auditing automation strategies for transportation freight invoices and ensuring proper controls are in place in freight auditing and Invoice payment systems.
  • Create a “learn by doing” environment by engaging with financial analysts and business partners to promote and encourage continued customer focus and cost reduction
  • Partner with your team and oversee auditing operations, develop analytical models / automation efforts while overseeing their continuous innovation and communication to both your operations & other business partners
  • Work with technology teams and payable teams to ensure timely freight invoice payments and provide excellent carrier experience.
  • Manage and participate in finance and accounting activities globally with multiple currencies.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in accurately estimating freight cost and ensure payment accuracy.
  • Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations.
  • Analyze and solve business problems at their root.

Key job responsibilities

A day in the life

As a Cost Controller, the Builder starts the day reviewing freight invoices, auditing for billing issues and ensuring proper financial controls are in place. The Builder then performs analytics while promoting innovative ideas to advance auditing. The Builder partners extensively with Accounts Payable and Finance to guarantee timely vendor payments. Builder afternoons often involves advanced data analysis, creating outlier reports to flag abnormal spend, and compiling monthly evaluations benchmarking disruption trends. The Builder ends each day connecting with cross-functional business partners, reviewing gaps and providing direction.

Basic Qualifications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
