Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, Brattleboro, VT, is seeking an energetic Freezer Selector to pick, gather, and organize product for delivery. This role involves standing, walking many miles daily, heavy lifting, and operating pallet jacks in a -20° to 0° freezer environment.

Earn $26/hr during training ($24 base + $2 premium); post-graduation up to $33/hr with incentives. Full-time, year-round, 4-day workweek. Join a safety-focused team with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and stay active for long shifts.
• Ability to lift 1–60 lbs repeatedly and walk 6–12 miles daily.

Responsibilities

• Pick items using order sheets or headset.
• Stack items on pallets for loading at bays.
• Ensure order accuracy and safety compliance.
• Inform supervisor of discrepancies in quantity or description.
• Perform equipment inspections and complete forms.
• Follow all safe operating procedures for material handling equipment.

Experienced Freezer selectors who complete accelerated 5-week training can earn up to $5,000 in bonuses - $2,500 upon completion, plus an additional $2,500 at your 1 year anniversary.

What’s in it for you?

Earn $26/hr during training ($24.00 / hour base + $2.00 / hour freezer premium). After Graduation earn up to $33/hr with performance incentives, weekend/evening premiums. Full-time, year-round role 8:00 AM start, 4-day workweek Sunday-Friday operation (No Saturdays). Location: 47 Old Ferry Road, Brattleboro, VT. Limited openings available – don’t wait! You will contribute by:

• Picking various items by using order sheets or an audio headset
• Stacking items on a pallet for wrapping and loading at the bay doors
• Ensuring accuracy to orders while adhering to our safety standards
• Operating a double walkie-rider or electric pallet jack to remove cases of products from storage rack & place on pallet and apply selection labels to appropriate cases (not in all cases)
• Utilizing proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product to prevent damages
• Informing Supervisor of any differences in case quantity and/or description
• Performing equipment inspections & completion of appropriate form
• Frequent safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

What’s a great way to stay in shape?

Continually standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift. Walking between 6-12 miles per day on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc. Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more. Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead. Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height. Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools.
