Job summary

Toledo Ice Cream, a DFA company, is looking for adaptable Freezer Warehouse Laborers to operate equipment and perform a variety of duties in the freezer hardening room of our ice cream facility.

The role offers 2nd shift (3:30–4:30pm start, 8.5–10 hour shifts, training may be 10 hours) or 3rd shift (11pm–11:30pm, 8.5 hours). Compensation starts at $21.65 during a 90‑day probation, rising to $26.40, with a $0.25 night shift premium. DFA benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred.
• Forklift experience highly preferred.
• Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload stacks and move items as assigned.
• Sort, bundle, and fill containers or place in assembled units.
• Mark or put identifying labels on product loads.
• Record movement of stock in/out of work area.
• Monitor materials, products, and equipment at each step of process and report irregularities to supervision.
• Maintain communication with other departments, supervisors, and employees, and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
• Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

SCHEDULE

• 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, start time varying between 3:30-4:30pm; 8.5-10 hour shift (may be initially 10 hour shift during training period)
• 3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 11-11:30pm; 8.5 hour shift (will be half palletizing, half cleaning shift)

COMPENSATION

• $21.65-$26.40 per hour (training rate is $21.65 for 90-day probationary period, then increases to $26.40 per hour)
• $0.25 hour shift differential for hours worked between 6pm-5am
