Freelance Software Tester in Italy - Remote $30/hr — San Francisco

This Testlio freelance role is fully remote and location-flexible within Italy — you can work from any café, co-working space, or home office, which aligns perfectly with a nomadic lifestyle, provided you are physically in Italy during the engagement.

Timezone flexibility: There are no fixed hours mentioned. The workload follows a weekly cadence with ad-hoc tasks, suggesting a largely async-friendly structure. You choose when within the week to complete your ~2-hour testing window.

Visa considerations: This role requires physical presence in Italy, but it is short-term and freelance — not a salaried position. EU/EEA citizens can work freely. Non-EU digital nomads should note Italy's Digital Nomad Visa (launched 2024), which allows non-EU remote workers to legally reside and work in Italy for up to 1 year.

• Italy (local): Strong rate — comfortably covers daily costs in most Italian cities.
• Lisbon, Portugal: $30/hr far exceeds typical living costs (~$1,500–$2,000/month), making this highly profitable for a short engagement.
• Medellín, Colombia: Extremely generous relative to ~$800–$1,200/month cost of living.

This is a short-term gig, not ongoing employment — best suited as supplementary income for nomads currently based in Italy rather than a primary income source.

At the moment, we are looking for Business Owners based in Italy to collaborate in testing a popular platform's new user onboarding flow for businesses.

Your testing will help identify and resolve issues for business owners across Italy who wish to create PayPal business accounts. We're specifically looking for individuals who own Limited Companies (Società a Responsabilità Limitata - S.R.L. / S.R.L.S.) in Italy and speak Italian. Your task would be to create a PayPal Business account for your company and record any bugs along the way. You will be acting like a new PayPal user, sharing your honest feedback about the experience. With your help, the PayPal team will be able to improve the experience of new users!

Note: We cannot collaborate if you have an existing PayPal account tied to your Limited Company. It is OK if you have a personal PayPal account, as this will not disrupt the testing flow.

To participate in this project, you will need to create an account on our platform. Through this account, we can assign you testing tasks. You will be asked to use our website for defect tracking and will receive materials to prepare you for testing.
